Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen certified with GreenSign label
Asset manager “Jagdfeld Real Estate” is also focussing on sustainability in its “Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen” property and has now had the hotel certified by the Berlin “GreenSign” Institute, achieving the second-highest level certificate (“GreenSign Hotel Level 4”) at the first attempt. This makes Aachen’s first address the first hotel in the imperial city to harmonise entrepreneurial action, ecological demands, social commitment and economic success in a special way according to the demanding criteria of the “GreenSign” Institute.
“Following the certification of our ‘Strandhotel Zingst’ a few weeks ago, we have now achieved another important ESG project with the certification of the ‘Parkhotel Quellenhof’, making us verifiably sustainable. This gives the environment, people and the property a resilient perspective for a future worth living in. This transformation is challenging, significant and fun because it is about the future of our children,” says Benedikt Jagdfeld, head of the asset manager “Jagdfeld Real Estate”.
In order to obtain the GreenSign certificate, the Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen had to meet over 100 criteria in eight categories such as the environment (energy, water, waste), biodiversity and cultural heritage or quality management and sustainable development and then undergo an audit. The hotel achieved the impressive “GreenSign” level four out of five at the first attempt, which means it also fulfils the criteria of the “Global Sustainable Tourism Council” (GSTC). The “Strandhotel Zingst” on the Darß on the Baltic Sea, also an asset of “Jagdfeld Real Estate”, had already achieved certification at the same high level in May.
Asset manager Jagdfeld does not want to stop there: “We have now commissioned the myclimate foundation to measure our CO2 ‘footprint’ in order to gain insights for further improvements. We are excited to see what comes of this,” says the entrepreneur.
